ABC Wednesday: V is for...
some shots of a Vintage blouse I have, made by my great-grandmother, and worn by: her, my grandmother, my great-aunt, my mother, two of my cousins, and then me. I tried to pass it on to my nieces, but my sister-in-law didn't want it, and so broke the chain for a generation (though I did get the older niece to put it on so I could at least have a picture of her in it). maybe I'll have a granddaughter to give it to, someday.
that's all I've got this week, and two days late, at that. check out some other great posts over at:

thank you, I've always been in awe of the skill it took to create this - such a treasure!
DeleteHow special to have a shirt your great grandmother made!
ReplyDeleteyes, there's a part of me that's very happy my sister-in-law refused it - because I get to keep it that much longer! it's one of my very favorite things...
DeleteIt is loVely! ROG, ABCW
ReplyDeletethank you Roger, I am very fond of it!
DeleteI'm a tad crafty but "Wow" that is just beautiful. Just so my children could have something I made - I made them crocheted blankets with their initials in them. The different yarns mostly yard sale finds helped to make the blankets look like patchwork quilts (though much heavier).
ReplyDeletemmm...V is for Volpe which means fox in Italian. That's all I've got. There is a local moving company that has a fox running under or over the Volpe logo on the truck.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece art and family history.
I've knitted a few things for my child - hats, a blanket, a dog...and sewed up a stuffed 'creature' as well! there are a few more requested items in the works, but oh, my old friend Time and I have issues. thanks for stopping in, and for teaching my something new - Volpe!
