curiosity  restless  sting  hit  facade  hope  bitter  torn  strip  frail  massive  doubts

every week that I participate in a certain blog hop, I hope the members of that community will read and comment on my contribution, as I do theirs.  I can see that they're reading my posts, and commenting on each other's entries while offering mine the silent treatment, leaving me with a momentarily bitter taste in my mouth - like they're hoping that if they ignore me, I'll go away.  the sting of their betrayal shows how frail their sensitivities are, as they seem to lack the curiosity to engage with my subject matter, torn as it is from recent headlines.  I grow restless over their silence, and my confidence would take a massive hit if I hadn't learned to strip myself of the doubts planted by others hiding behind a facade of righteousness, judging me from wherever they are in the world.  I want to dare them to come to where I am, and learn the truth for themselves, but ultimately I don't bother with such petty foolishness.  I will continue as I began; writing for me.

  1. I agree with the other commenter. The process necessary to comment on Blogspot entries is cumbersome. I'm sure there's nothing personal involved rather the element of time and ease of navigation within WP is leaving you out. <3

    1. thanks for letting me know - I appreciate your navigating the process to tell me you were here. I seem to have done all I can to fix it (which is nothing), so I guess I'll just have to live with the forced separation between blogger/google/wordpress wherever the disconnect may be, and not take it personally.

    1. "selah" is a term used in the bible to indicate a 'holy pause' - a moment to stop and reflect on what's been said. and yes, this post seems to have inspired people to reach out and let me know they've been here - it's almost as if I'd been waiting for the right words to write it. thanks for your comment!

  4. i so enjoyed your contribution... it is indeed true everything you say... i am sure we all feel this... myself i try to go beyond a like and comment how i have been affected by your words... some i gasp not necessarily shocked but hearing from a distance... sometimes i write just to write and stretch my thoughts...writing on pieces of paper only to later discard... i see you i hear you and i shall return... thank you for your honesty it came across so clear...

I do so love to hear from you - please let me know that you came to visit!
it has come to my attention that some people are having trouble commenting, and from what I could find, it seems blogger uses third-party cookies, and if users have them disabled, they cannot comment while logged into a google account. further, browser extensions like ad blockers or heightened privacy settings like tracking protections can block the comment form. I checked my settings, and the blog allows all comments, including anonymous ones, so...just know that I appreciate your visit even if you can't tell me you were here.
